ABOUT Yvonne Schichtel:

Yvonne Schichtel is a womenswear designer recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Her practice explores femininity, intimacy, and freedom through a language where softness becomes a form of strength.

Working primarily with fine, translucent materials, Yvonne places handwork and craftsmanship at the heart of her design process. She is interested in the tension between delicacy and structure, using lightness, transparency, and tactile details to create garments that feel both intimate and quietly powerful.

Her silhouettes follow the female body without imposing on it. Rather than conforming to established ideas of femininity, she explores ways of dressing that allow the body to feel visible, free, and unrestrained. The result is a sensibility that is sensual without being conventional, and delicate without ever feeling fragile.

At the core of Yvonne’s work is a simple but powerful idea: femininity does not need to be hardened to be strong. Through material, craftsmanship, and an intuitive understanding of the body, she creates womenswear that embraces softness as both an aesthetic and an attitude.
