Yanya Cheng is a fashion designer from China, now based in London. For Yanya, the designing process is a conversation between the designer and the wearer. In this conversation, her aim is to create a trigger that challenges the stereotypes people hold.
Finding a new perception of observation has always been Yanya's inspiration. In terms of making, Yanya develops innovative techniques by exploring craftsmanship from traditional garment-making processes, along with a keen attention to sustainability.
Yanya's collection “On the Way” celebrates the resilience and vitality we all have. It explores the concept of being "on the way"—a state of uncertainty and indefinition that offers a sense of freedom and opportunity for exploration. This collection embodies Yanya’s philosophy of embracing the unexpected and celebrating the journey rather than the destination.
The collection features:
• Avoiding the Correct Way of Wearing: Multiple versions of one piece allow for personal interpretation and styling.
