Wenjun Gao is a Fashion Design student at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, where she is developing a practice centred on knitwear and textile experimentation.

Her work explores the dialogue between light and shadow, using photography as a starting point for translating light patterns into abstract knitted structures. Through changes in texture, density, and surface, she creates garments that play with contrast while allowing opposing elements to coexist.

Wenjun combines a strong interest in functional design with a refined approach to craftsmanship, paying close attention to the relationship between material, structure, and the body. Her practice reflects a contemporary understanding of knitwear, where traditional techniques become a tool for exploring new visual and tactile possibilities.

Based in Milan, she continues to investigate how textile construction can transform light, image, and movement into wearable forms.
