Maria Czarnecka (b. 2000) - fashion designer and visual artist.
I defended my Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in June 2023. I presented my designs at the final of the Martelive competition in Rome (2022) and during solo exhibition "Sartorial Integrity" in Autonomia Gallery in Warsaw (2022).  In 2021, I was awarded first place in the international tattoo design competition "Its-bitsy CANCER... leaves you with a SCAR" (2021).

My work has been presented in group exhibitions: the final year exhibitions of the Faculty of Design in Warsaw (2020, 2021, 2022); the exhibition "8th day of the week" at Autonomia Gallery in Warsaw (2018) and the exhibition "Identity" at Autonomia Gallery in Warsaw (2017).

In addition to my design work, I engage in ecological activities in the field of fashion.

Since 2021, I have been a member of the editorial board of Nowl Eco, where I create articles addressing sustainability and ecology in fashion. Since June 2023, I have participated in the Bevisioneers programme powered by Mercedes Benz, during which I carry out a project focused on sustainable innovations in fashion.
In my designs, I take an analytical approach to the subject of what meaning fashion can have in our lives.

I analyze the psychological meaning of clothing and explore more sustainable solutions. In my graduation collection I question the very basics of Western approach to fashion through the lens of other cultures.
