ABOUT LUCA:
Luca Di Giacomantonio is an Italian fashion designer whose work merges artistic research, personal history, and haute couture craftsmanship. He graduated in Fashion Design at the IED – European Institute of Design in Rome, and later completed a Master’s in Haute Couture at the Accademia Costume & Moda in Rome. His passion for fashion was born in childhood, nurtured within the family boutique where he grew up surrounded by fabrics, collections, and clients. From the age of five he immersed himself in this world, and as he matured, he became increasingly involved in the business, developing skills in visual consulting, client advising, and trend scouting at fashion fairs and shows. For Di Giacomantonio, fashion has never been an option but an obsession — a dream without a plan B.
His academic and professional journey reflects this dedication. He has collaborated on haute couture projects with Maison Valentino and the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa, won the fur section of the Fashion Research and Innovation competition with CNA Federmoda, and completed an internship at Gentili Mosconi, a leading company in the textile sector. These experiences deepened his knowledge of embroidery, textile design, prototyping, and styling, and reinforced his identity as an esthete devoted to beauty, luxury, and precision.
This vision finds expression in his haute couture collection Galleria Capovolta, a project that explores the intersection of art, fashion, and identity. Conceived as a “personal gallery,” the collection pays tribute to figures who transformed their lives into art and redefined the perception of “normality”: Lili Elbe, Cecil Beaton, Giò Stajano, Lisetta Carmi, April Ashley, Mina, and others. Through their courage and creativity, they embodied authenticity and challenged social conventions, turning individuality into universality.
Galleria Capovolta translates these narratives into garments rich in embroidery, luxurious fabrics, and refined construction. Each piece becomes a portrait of freedom, resilience, and self-affirmation — a celebration of those who reject imposed labels and assert their identity through art and fashion. For Di Giacomantonio, the collection represents not only an homage to these pioneers, but also a statement of his own philosophy: fashion as obsession, testimony, and transformation, where memory, personality, and beauty converge.
