ABOUT LIOR'S COLLECTION:
My name is Lior Weinberg, and I am a fashion designer from an urban beach city near Tel Aviv, Israel.
I recently completed my Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art. However, my journey into the world of fashion began long before my formal education. During my gap year, I worked as a flight attendant, which provided me with invaluable exposure to diverse cultures and the opportunity to travel the world. These experiences broadened my horizons and fueled my creativity.
At Shenkar, I had the privilege of studying in the fashion department, where I developed a wide range of skills. From technical courses focused on sewing and pattern making to design courses covering lingerie, ready-to-wear, knitwear, sustainability, and tailored garments, I acquired a comprehensive skill set that enables me to bring my unique visions to life. In addition, I delved into theoretical courses such as Trends Forecasting, History of Art, Fashion and Design, and Philosophy, which enriched my understanding of the industry and its historical context.
During my fourth year, I had the opportunity to intern at one of Israel's oldest and largest fashion houses. Assisting the main design team, I gained invaluable hands-on experience in various aspects of the design and production process. This immersive internship paved the way for my current role as a womenswear designer at the same fashion house.
Drawing from these diverse experiences, I embarked on my final project—an ambitious collection comprising six outfits. Named 'Paradox of Fashion,' this collection aimed to challenge conventional norms and celebrate the harmonious blend of contrasting elements. Each garment was a testament to my philosophy of empowering individuals through clothing, enabling them to express their unique identities while embracing the paradoxes within.
I am proud to share that my dedication and talent have been recognized through notable achievements. I had the privilege of showcasing my designs at the esteemed "Biennale" exhibition held at the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv.
Furthermore, I was honored to be the People's Choice winner in the international competitions 'Choose Leather. Stay Different.' and 'Artsthread.' These accolades solidify my belief in the transformative power of design and its ability to resonate with people from diverse backgrounds.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I draw inspiration from the vibrant urban beach town near Tel Aviv, where I am fortunate to reside. This environment offers a unique blend of urban landscapes and the serene presence of the sea, which infuse my designs with a captivating energy and a touch of tranquility.
I am a passionate fashion designer who focuses on womenswear and accessories. By examining human behavior, cultural nuances, and personal desires, I strive to create designs that empower individuals to express their true selves. Through my dedication, attention to detail, and continuous quest for improvement, I aim to make a lasting impact on the fashion world. I present to you a glimpse of my creativity and vision through my graduation collection, representing the culmination of my journey thus far.
