ABOUT Inbal :

Inbal Heffer is an Israeli fashion designer whose work explores identity, heritage, and transformation through a refined balance of craft and concept. Born and raised in a small rural community in the Galilee, she grew up surrounded by nature and a strong sense of community — an environment that nurtured her imagination and creative spirit from an early age. Her passion for art began with drawing, dance, and multidisciplinary exploration, but it was her grandmother who introduced her to knitting and Burda magazines at the age of ten, sparking a lifelong love for fashion. At seventeen, she received her first sewing machine and began shaping garments as a means of self-expression.

In 2021, Heffer began her studies in Fashion Design at Shenkar College, where she is now completing her final year. Her academic path has deepened her engagement with materials, textures, and color as tools for storytelling. For her, fashion is not only design but a visual language that allows abstract concepts and emotions to take form, creating connections between personal experience and collective narratives.

This philosophy is embodied in her collection Urban Fields, which draws on the fable of the Town Mouse and the Country Mouse to revisit her grandparents’ immigration from Morocco to Israel in the 1950s. Their journey — from the cosmopolitan urbanity of Casablanca to the rural landscapes of the Galilee — mirrors Heffer’s own life path, moving between the countryside of her childhood and the urban environment of Jaffa as an adult.

The collection presents five looks for men and women, blending 1950s tailoring with local workwear. Natural materials such as straw and leather meet Moroccan ornamental details, patchwork construction, and knitting techniques — a tribute to her grandmother and the generational transmission of craft.

Through Urban Fields, Heffer reimagines identity as an open field, a layered space where multiple origins and influences coexist. It is a project that embraces complexity, celebrates heritage, and translates personal history into a contemporary design language that is both rooted and transformative.
