ABOUT GABRIELE:
Gabriele Conti is an Italian fashion designer whose work bridges art, history, and emotional storytelling. His creative journey began with a profound passion for religious iconography and the study of decoration, which led him to a degree in Fashion Design at NABA with a thesis on haute couture inspired by Etruscan art. He continued his research through a Master’s in Haute Couture Fashion Design at the Accademia Costume & Moda in Rome, where his focus on embroidery and Jacquard fabrics earned him top recognition. Professionally, he refined his skills through an internship at Dolce & Gabbana’s style office and now serves as Design Assistant at Maison Francesco Scognamiglio.
Conti defines himself as a romantic and eclectic designer, uncompromising in his pursuit of coherence between concept and execution. His approach is rooted in the creation of “emotional channels” — transforming personal experiences into projects that evolve from sensation into narrative, and finally into a tangible, sensory object. For him, design is never a sterile response to a brief but an ongoing dialogue between life and creation, where material craftsmanship and emotional resonance merge.
This vision is embodied in his collection The Most Valuable Dress, inspired by a reflection of artist Pizzi Cannella in his series Le Migranti. Cannella imagines migrant women carrying their most beautiful dress folded in a plastic bag — their only luggage, yet their most precious possession. Conti reinterprets this image as a meditation on the garment as a symbolic amulet, a protective object that embodies strength, identity, and hope. Each piece in the collection goes beyond fabric: it becomes a chosen statement, a vessel of resilience, and a way of reclaiming beauty and dignity.
Through this work, Conti affirms his belief in fashion as both testimony and transformation — a language where memory, material, and emotion intertwine.
