ABOUT CHRISTABELL:
Christabell Bellini is a Jakarta-born fashion designer whose work investigates the tension between conformity and individuality within contemporary society. Currently completing her studies in Fashion Design at Raffles Design Institute Jakarta, she combines technical discipline with a conceptual approach shaped by experiences in both designer ateliers and children’s wear manufacturing.
Her graduate collection Suburbia FW25 takes the suburban landscape as its starting point—identical houses, manicured lawns, red mailboxes—symbols of comfort, normalcy, and consumerism. Beneath this façade, however, emerges a subtle unease, where uniformity becomes unsettling and the familiar turns strange.
Through precise tailoring, reimagined silhouettes, and unexpected details, Christabell transforms everyday references into garments that blur the line between belonging and alienation. Her design language emphasizes structure and texture, using the suburban codes not as decoration but as a medium to question ideals of security, identity, and collective culture.
Each look reflects this quiet dissonance, where the ordinary is disrupted and the suburban dream reveals both fragility and resistance.
