ABOUT Benedetta Boidi:
Born and raised in Rome, Benedetta Boidi is a 23-year-old fashion designer whose practice sits between fashion and costume, with a particular interest in material, observation, and the details of everyday life. Her relationship with fashion began early, influenced in part by her mother’s long experience in the industry and her work with leather and suede—materials that continue to fascinate Benedetta for the way they evolve, gaining character while retaining their strength.
After a classical high school education, she studied at Accademia di Costume e Moda in Rome, developing an approach that sees clothing as more than a finished product: a tool for expressing identity and building narratives.
Observation is at the heart of her creative process. People, places, travels, conversations, and unexpected details become fragments that she collects through photography, gradually building a personal visual archive. From these fragments, she creates connections with references from cinema, art, costume history, and culture, allowing a direction to emerge before translating her research into silhouettes, materials, and surfaces.
Her interest in leather, denim, embroidery, prints, and textile treatments extends into accessory design, supported by experiences with established and emerging fashion brands. She has also developed an independent handbag project, exploring the practical realities of material research, product development, and production.
Benedetta’s work is driven by a balance between intuition and structure, craftsmanship and experimentation. Looking ahead, she aims to develop this perspective within creative environments while continuing to shape a personal language of her own.
