“Mittelmoda International Lab” founded by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Sistema Moda Italia, Fondazione Industrie Cotone e Lino and Camera di Commercio di Gorizia, has partnered with Vicenza Fiera spa, the international trade fair headquartered in Vicenza (very close to Venice and in the heart of one of the most qualified productive Industrial sites in Italy). This new, strong strategic agreement between Mittelmoda and Vicenza Fiera has brought new life and a further development to the contest promoted by “Mittelmoda The Fashion Award” with the scheduling of new events dedicated to the integration between the young designers’ creativity and the fashion system industry.
Mittelmoda The Fashion Award 23rd Edition prizes are:
– Absolute prize for the most experimental collection;
– Absolute prize for the most creative collection.
Among the news this year there is also a new award promoted and offered by The Woolmark Company for the most creative collection in the use of wool.
In virtue of the strategic partnership with Origin, Passion & Beliefs, four categories will be awarded: Leather, Stone, Technology, Textile. In order to be part of the contest’s final selection each designer candidate will present in the collection specific outfits or accessories made with or characterized by the presence of at least one of the main four product categories: Leather special award, Stone special award, Technology special award, Textile special award. A minimum of 80% of the outfit must be handmade created.
Mittelmoda in virtue of is partnership with Lectra reserves a special section Lectra to its Lectra partner schools (section by invitation only) using the Kaledo Suite to partecipate in Mittelmoda contest by offering the best three designers selected by a jury the opportunity to exhibit their creations at “Lectra Fil Rouge Defilé” on Mittelmoda’s Catwalk, and they will automatically be participants in the Mittelmoda global competition.
Design a non-seasonal collection (weights and fabrications that transcend time-zones and hemispheres) around the concept of the Modern Traveler. Incorporate an emphasis on sustainability and build a strong statement around color that reflects the Benetton brand heritage. Collection architecture should involve foundation pieces for the essential head-to-toe travel wardrobe, as well as innovative accessories to complement a lifestyle of optimal mobility.
